  • Your application goes to the PMYP system and is also shared with your university’s Focal Person.
  • The Focal Person checks your eligibility, enrollment status, and academic records. They may contact you for supporting documents like your transcript, student card, or fee challan.

How to Find Your University Focal Person

Every university that participates in the PM Laptop Scheme has a Focal Person assigned by HEC. This person is responsible for verifying student data and coordinating the laptop distribution at your university.

  • Visit the official portal at https://laptop.pmyp.gov.pk
  • Click on “Search Focal Person.”
  • Select your City and University.
  • The system will show the name, email, and phone number of your Focal Person.

If you have any issues with your application, like wrong data, missing verification, or rejection, contact your Focal Person first. They can “unverify” your application so you can correct and resubmit it.

Tips That Can Actually Help You Get Selected

Although the process and selection criteria for the scheme are pretty simple, here is something you can do extra to avoid rejection.

Keep Your CGPA Strong

Academic performance weighs heavily in the selection process. Focus on your grades throughout the semester. A CGPA of 3.5 or above puts you in a much stronger position than the minimum 2.8.

Apply During Off-Peak Hours

Because the PM Laptop Scheme 2026 attracts millions of visitors, the portal can sometimes experience lag. It is always wise to complete your application during off-peak hours, like late at night or early in the morning.

Update Your PMYP Profile Now

Do not wait for registration to open. Log in today and make sure your phone number, email, and academic details are all correct. When registration opens, you just need to submit your application.

Respond Quickly to University Queries

If university officials contact you for verification, reply within 24 hours. Delayed responses can cause your application to be skipped.

Common Mistakes That Disqualify Students

  • Applying from an affiliated college or private university.
  • Wrong CNIC number.
  • CGPA entered incorrectly.
  • Creating a duplicate account.
  • Blurry document uploads.
  • Applying after completing your degree.

Common Problems and Their Solutions

Many students face issues during or after the application process. Here are the most common problems and their solutions:

Wait 10 to 15 minutes. Check your spam or junk folder. Make sure you entered the correct email address. If the problem continues, try a different email or contact HEC support.

This happens when your specific department is not listed under your university on the portal. Contact your university Focal Person immediately. They can request HEC to add your department.

Contact your Focal Person and ask them to check why your application was disapproved. Common reasons include wrong CNIC, wrong department, previously received laptop, or non-enrolled status. The Focal Person can unverify your application so you can fix the mistake and resubmit.

If you made a mistake in your application, do not create a new one. Contact your Focal Person. They will reject your current application, so it goes back to “editable” mode. Then you can correct the details and submit again.

Important Tips for Applicants

  • Only use the official portal. Never share your CNIC on third-party websites.
  • Do not pay anyone for this scheme. The application is completely free. Anyone asking for money is a scammer.
  • Save a screenshot of your application after submission.
  • Keep your email and phone number active throughout the process. HEC or your university may contact you.
  • Check your application status regularly. Do not wait for someone else to tell you.
  • If you face any technical issue, contact your focal person, email HEC at [email protected], or call 051-111-119-432.
