Why it is Important to Check PMT Score before you Apply
It measures the level of poverty, and based on it, the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety decides if you are eligible or not. It is not only for BISP, but it also affects the eligibility of different programs like Benazir Hunarmand, Benazir Kafaalat Program, and other government programs. It ensures that the funds are distributed on a merit basis. It ensures that no fraud or corruption occurs
A lower Score means you will have higher chances of qualifying for the government schemes. Similarly, a higher PMT Score means that you will have lower chances of eligibility.
How to Stay Eligible?
If the NSER survey approves your funds, it does not mean you will always be eligible. Because National Socioeconomic registry (NSER) now updates your data in real time and keeps it updated. Therefore, whenever your PMT score exceeds the threshold limit, you will not be eligible.
Therefore, it is important that you keep your information up to date. Here is how you can stay eligible
Avoid False Information
If you give false information, you can get permanently banned and rejected from the BISP and other government programs, even if you are eligible. You can always update your data by visiting the BISP tehsil offices near you.
Use Your Own Information
Always use your CNIC and registered mobile number on the same CNIC for any BISP-related matter. CNIC is the only thing that connects you with your data in the NSER database.
Keep your Information Updated
Whenever your data, like household assets, monthly income, and the number of dependent family members, changes, you should always update your data in the NSER dynamic Survey.
Update Biometric Data at NADRA
Make sure your biometric information, like thumb impression and fingerprint data, is updated at the National Database and Regulation Authority (NADRA).
How to Correct your PMT Score for BISP if it is High or Incorrect.
If your status on BISP changes to ineligible or your score increases above 32, you should check these things.
Conclusion
Your Poverty Score decides if you are eligible for BISP funds. A lower PMT Score means you have a higher chance of eligibility. You can check PMT Score using the 8171 Portal, 8171n SMS Service, or by visiting the BISP Tehsil office. You can stay eligible by giving correct information, avoiding misinformation, and keeping your data updated in the NSER survey. If something changes, update it at the BISP Tehsil office. Check PMT score again after a few days. Doing this will help you stay eligible and get your money on time.
